What's Wrong with My Plant?
Using PClinic for Plant Health Problems
Featuring Dr. Eleanor Lopez
PClinic is an online image upload system that allows users to upload images of diseased plants and insects for identification by our UTK plant health experts. This service is free for registered Master Gardener groups interested in utilizing the system when an unknown insect pest or plant problem is encountered. By utilizing PClinic, groups will have access to historical plant problems in their area and keep our plant health professionals informed on plant problems across the state.
Our program will feature Dr. Eleanor Lopez who currently runs the UTK plant pest diagnostic lab in Nashville, TN. The plant pest lab identifies plant pests including insect pests, plant pathogens, and weedy plants. Dr. Lopez received her doctorate in Plant Medicine from the University of Florida which was an interdisciplinary degree focusing on diagnosing plant problems, including entomology, nematology, plant pathology, soil science, and weed management. She also has a Master's in Entomology and Nematology, a Master's in Sustainable Food Systems, and has a Bachelor's in Spanish and Environmental Studies.
