There are over 300 cultivars of Japanese Maples, with two primary types: 1) upright varieties like Bloodgood, and 2) weeping, lace leaf varieties like Crimson Quean. This video shows the pruning of a Crimson Queen Japanese Maple that was already in the landscape when the current homeowner purchased the property. It needed some "catch-up" pruning, which many new homeowners can relate with!.
