About the Project

The Stella Moore Collier Preserve is a 10-12 acre park in the process of becoming an area of exclusively native plants that will enhance the habitat, especially for birds. Dr. Bob Collier gifted the woods behind and beside the Powell Public Library to the Legacy Parks Foundation in 2016. Named for Dr. Collier’s grandmother, Stella Moore, the park is part of the 500 acre homestead that has been in the Collier family for generations. It is a mostly blank canvas with limitless possibilities for native plants in a variety of environments ranging from partial sun to boggy areas to the edges of Beaver Creek. Come take a look!
